we've made a lot of decisions regarding the wedding. we're meeting with the florist in a week and a half. we've booked our planner, venues, photographer, videographer, and are about to book a DJ. the lovely amanda wallace is going to be doing our invites and i'm so excited to start working on them. i'm really excited to start working on the little details: escort cards, table numbers, favors, the cake, etc.

isn't this cake topper so adorable? together forever is a great etsy shop (and the best is she can make the little outfits match your tux & gown!!) and i'm super excited to work with her for our custom cake topper!

in other wedding news: i bought my wedding dress!!! i absolutely love it, and while i won't post a photo of it on here, i will post a photo of the dress i almost bought:

this one was a very close second, and it was super hard to decide, but i love the dress i chose, and can't wait for april 28th so i can walk down the aisle to scott and show off the dress. now that there's a dress i feel like the wedding is actually happening. i love it.

wedding, wedding, wedding

i'm obsessed with pinterest. it's my new favorite thing and i'm keeping all of my wedding inspiration on my pinboard there. it's wonderful!! and a great way for you to stalk all the pretty things i love and that you might get to see at the wedding! :)

so, as some of you may know scott & i had our venues picked out and booked (well, technically we hadn't booked our ceremony site yet, but we knew we were going to). thankfully we didn't book that ceremony site with it's nonrefundable $500 deposit because we've decided we simply can't get married there. we were to marry at mission san francisco solano, in sonoma. we went in there the other day and both just felt creeped out inside the mission. that and the fact that there were two life size, very colorful statues of mary and jesus on the altar. that didn't fly with me. i'm not about to take my wedding pictures with jeezy creezy (anyone a fan of eddie izzard?)

so... now we're trying to find out where to have our ceremony. we have two thoughts: try to find some place in sonoma or scratch that whole plan, cancel our booking with el dorado kitchen (where our reception will be) and do the whole thing up at my brother in law's family home, which is absolutely beautiful. the main problem: it's an april wedding and if it rains there won't be a back up plan. i mean, we can always try to tent everything, but that would be super difficult and WAY over budget (do you know how much people charge for tents? it's ridiculous). i've done my research though, and it hasn't rained on april 28th (in santa rosa at least) since 1970. that being said, it'll probably rain on my wedding day. oh well, it's good luck, right?

bridal shower ideas

while scott and i are throwing around ideas concerning the wedding, an engagement party, and the bachelor/bachelorette parties i've been day dreaming about decor for an engagement or bridal party. i love this "eat" board. i want to make one in our colors for the wedding. also, i'm obsessed with the layered pink cake. based on this martha stewart cake, i think this pink layered cake would be awesomely girly for the shower. also: pink flowers in white mason jars and sofia champagne in a can. love. thanks to becca for introducing me to green wedding shoes, where i found these photos.

engaged

scott & i are now engaged (which makes me feel much better about being enormously pregnant) and now i'm so excited to be able to share all the wedding inspiration i find all over style me pretty every day. stay in touch for all the wedding pretties i find all over the blogs.

also, i should mention how happy i am to be engaged to scott and lucky i am to have him in my life. but i can save the mushiness for another post that will be dedicated completely to the best person in my life. i love him and am so happy to share my life with him.
