8 months old

can you believe this kid is 8 months old? he is such a joy. he is so happy and smiley. he has three emotions: crying (angry or frustrated), happy, and serious. he's hilarious. he loves to give kisses and cuddles. he's absolutely obsessed with me and has recently become such a daddy's boy on scott's days off. it's too cute. it's like he knows that he only has so much time to get daddy snuggles in, and so on scott's day off all griffin wants to do is hang out with his dad. it's just the best to see them together. griffin has changed our lives completely and we are so in love with him. absolutely, completely enamored by this little guy and that adorable smile. happy 8 months, griffin. we sure are lucky to have you around.

tumblr

i've been neglecting my blog because i finally decided to get a tumblr. it's easier, faster, but i can't tell if i like it more or not. anyway, i'm sorry for neglecting you blog and i hope to write more often and keep this blog going. blogger is such a different community than tumblr, and i think i like blogger more. we'll see... i'll give tumblr some time.

life lately

griffin was sick for awhile (and is still pretty stuffed up) but he seems to be much better now. scott's working hard, and i've been implementing a new schedule around the house to make us keep up with our chores. it's gotten a lot easier since griffin has decided to sit up on his own and actually play by himself!! we have hardwood floors throughout the whole house which isn't very baby friendly, so we set up the pack & play in the living room so griff has a place to hang. it's been amazing. he will play in there forever, and it's allowed me to have free time to make lots of food for griffin. right now we have applesauce, yams, corn, potatoes, zucchini, peaches, and squash in the fridge for the boy right now. it's so wonderful to make his food. i just buy whatever we're eating that week and make him his own version of it. it's so easy, and inexpensive. it's the best way to feed the boy, and he loves it! he knows the sound of the food processor now and gets excited when he hears it. he's so cute.

today

one year ago today i got a phone call from a genetic counselor. she was calling to discuss the results of my AFP test and to schedule an in-depth ultrasound with a perinatologist to find out what was wrong with the fetus. this phone call changed our lives. it's just so incredible to think about how much has happened in our lives in the last year.
